How to get to Siargao: Digital Nomad Guide
Siargao is one of our favorite digital nomad destinations. It’s got stunning beaches, amazing surfing spots, a laid-back atmosphere and a growing community of remote workers. If you’re planning to visit, this guide will help you figure out the best way to get there, whether by plane or ferry.
Flying to Siargao
The fastest and most convenient way to reach Siargao is by plane. The island’s airport, Siargao Sayak Airport (IAO), is located about 45 minutes from General Luna, the main tourist area.
Flight Options & Costs
- From Manila (MNL) – Direct flights take around 2 hours. Flights are operated by Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Sunlight Air airlines. Prices range from ₱3,000 – ₱7,000 (50€-125€) one-way, depending on the season and how early you book.
- From Cebu (CEB) – The flight takes about 1 hour. Expect ticket prices between ₱1,500 – ₱4,000 (25€-70€) one-way.
We recommend checking flights on Skyscanner or Google Flights for the best deals.

Getting from the Airport to General Luna
Once you land, you’ll need to take a van to General Luna. Shuttle bus costs ₱300 per person (5€) and take about 45 minutes. You will simply need to tell a driver the address of your accommodation or point to it on a map. They will know where to go.
Also most accommodations can arrange a pick-up, so it’s worth checking with your hostel or guesthouse.

If you’re looking for a cheaper (but longer and less convenient) route, you can take a ferry to Siargao from Surigao City. This is a good option if you’re coming from Mindanao or want to save on the flights.
